Asian Youth and Junior Boxing C’ships: Vanshaj, Aman cruise into finals

Indian boxers Vanshaj and Aman Singh Bisht registered commanding wins to enter the youth males’s finals on the 2022 ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Amman, Jordan.

Within the matches performed late on Friday evening, the final version’s silver medallist Vanshaj (63.5kg) knocked out Syria’s Ahmad Nabaa with referee stopping the competition verdict within the first spherical itself, whereas Aman too produced an equally aggressive show to safe a convincing 4-0 win over Kazakhstan’s Tim Ofeypotashov within the +92kg semifinal.

One other youth boxer Anand Yadav, who progressed into the 54kg last with an in depth 3-2 win in opposition to Uzbekistan’s Abduvali Buriboev, needed to finish his marketing campaign with a bronze medal after the opponent protested and the choice was reversed. 

After Anand’s exit, Vishwanath Suresh (48kg), Vanshaj and Aman would be the three Indians who will function within the youth males finals whereas amongst girls, seven will play finals on Monday.
